My stepson recently lied about doing his homework for class. We found out from his report card that he is failing World History. We never checked his homework because he is a very smart well behaved student who always has A's on his report card. He is one of those kids that is so smart that he gets bored with homework because he can just go to class and ace a test without studying much. What worries me most is that he lied. He has never done anything like this before and we had a discussion and he is grounded from playing video games for awhile. He feels very bad and I feel he has learned his lesson. This has happened once before but many years ago and not as severe. He is 11 so I know that as he gets older the discipline gets more challenging. What are some ways to help me prevent this from leading down a very bad road of not doing his assignments and skipping classes?
