We created YOU to make it easier for families to support their children’s success. Grounded in research and real-world experience, our tools are practical, inclusive, and ready to use — wherever families live, work, and learn.
From birth to college readiness, YOU gives parents a roadmap for every stage of their child’s development.
Our Story
In 2013, founder Sunny Chico launched YOU: Your Child’s First Teacher — a practical, inclusive family engagement book series shaped by her experience as a special education teacher, school principal, U.S. Department of Education leader, and mother. What began as a series of books grew into in-person family workshops, and has since evolved into accessible digital modules used by families and schools nationwide. Today, YOU is trusted in seven states and has reached tens of thousands of families.
